How do I register my child with Greatworth Pre-School?
Parents or carers who would like to register a child should complete the Registration Form and Consent Form which you can get from the staff at Pre-School. These should then be returned to a member of staff at Pre-School who will liaise with parents / carers about a start date and induction.
When can my child start?
A child can start as soon as they have reached their 2nd birthday. Please complete the Registration Form and Consent Form as soon as possible to be placed on the waiting list.
How many sessions should my child attend?
We recommend that a child should attend a minimum of 2 sessions per week as this is felt to be important in helping children to settle in quickly.
What dates is Pre-School open?
We operate the same term dates as Greatworth School. However, we generally open when they are closed for training days – please see notice board for details or the News tab on the website
How are fees billed?
The Treasurer will send an invoice at the start of each month with details on how to pay for each months sessions in advance.
What should my child bring to Pre-School?
If a child is not yet toilet-trained they should bring a named bag containing nappies or pull –ups. We recommend the drawstring style bag as these fit neatly on the pegs. Children should also bring a change of clothes in case of emergency. In the summer they should bring a sun-hat and parents should apply sun-cream to their child prior to attendance. If a child is staying all day and parents wish for staff to reapply sun cream then parents must complete the necessary consent form and provide the appropriate product. In winter, children should bring hats and mittens / gloves.
What should my child wear?
Children need to feel free to explore and experiment so we suggest they wear clothes which are easily washable. A range of T-shirts, Polo shirts, Fleeces and Hoodies are available with the Pre-School logo on. Please see Pre-School staff for details.
How can I get involved with Pre-School?
We run a Parent Stay and Play Rota which enables parents to experience a session and join in the activities. You may also consider joining our committee which meets once a month.
How will I get feedback on how my child is doing?
Your child will have a key person who will plan their curriculum and provide you with verbal feedback as often as possible. You may also ask to see their folder at any time which contains records of observations within the setting. We also hold regular Parent’s Evenings where you will be able to speak to your child’s key person, who will be able to give you feedback on the progress your child is making, discuss any concerns they, or you, might have and offer advice if necessary.
